2013 – 2020
THE EVOLUTION
009 SERIES
009 Series pares the display of time down to its essentials. A pair of slim, full-length hands sweep across the dial, creating elegant crossings within a narrow metal frame, while the minimal build gives the watch a clear, refined character.
COMPASS WRIST WATCH
The Compass watch pairs outdoor utility with a clear design. Shatterproof and water-resistant, it carries a red second hand that also points north, with high-contrast hands and dial detailing for easy reading in active conditions.
MOON PHASE
Moon Phase rethinks the lunar calendar with a clean 360° rotating disc that shows both the date and the moon phase in a single view. Its uncluttered layout turns the passing lunar month into something clear and sensory.
SKELETON WATCH
Awarded for its bold open-work design, the Skeleton Watch helped set the tone for CIGA Design's mechanical language. A square case around a round movement creates striking contrast, backed by a visible structure and anti-shock construction.
MICHAEL YOUNG
A collaboration with British designer Michael Young, this open-work piece turns the movement into its visual interface. Extended mechanical splints form both dial and case, uniting rotation, detail and mechanical character into a single whole.
INNOVATIVE SINGLE-HAND
The Single-Hand reimagines time with one hand marking both hours and minutes through a distinctive asynchronous gear ratio. Honoured with Red Dot: Best of the Best, it brings minimalist clarity to a patented mechanical display.
UNIBODY WATCH
Unibody distils the watch into one seamless construction, removing the separate case back for a smoother, more ergonomic fit. Its rounded form, minimal three-hand dial and structured strap make for a clean, comfortable everyday design.
CERAMIC MECHANICAL WATCH
Rounded in relation, firm in principle, the watch translates an Eastern philosophy into a skeletal presence. A round case and square dial frame a shock-resistant mechanical structure, supported by nylon blocks for greater resilience.
EDGE WATCH
Time was once defined by rigid, fixed forms. Edge redefines modern watch design, its sleek tonneau contours blending refined lines into one integrated silhouette. Winner of the 2020 German Design Award.
2019 – 2021
A TURNING POINT IN CIGA DESIGN HISTORY
A tiny globe worn on the wrist reshaped how the world saw CIGA Design.
The Globe reimagined the dial as the Earth itself — a small rotating world that showed hours and minutes at once. Blue Planet followed, born from the quiet of the pandemic: a watch that held something beyond time, a reminder of the world we all share.
Both entered the Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève, and Blue Planet won the GPHG Challenge Prize in 2021. CIGA Design had reached the international stage of fine watchmaking — not as a challenger, but as a voice.

The Chinese Watch Brand That Beat the Swiss
For over a century, Switzerland has been the name behind fine watchmaking, its houses setting the world's standard for craft and prestige. China, by contrast, was long limited to manufacturing and assembly.
In recent years, though, a small circle of inventive Chinese brands has begun to rewrite that story — and CIGA Design stands out among them. In 2021 its Blue Planet watch took the GPHG Challenge Prize, outdoing celebrated Swiss houses and becoming the first Chinese watch ever to earn the honour. The international press called it "the Chinese watch brand that beat the Swiss."
