If you have other questions, please just send it to our contact page.
Buying A Watch
Q1: Where can I purchase a CIGA Design's watch?
All CIGA Design timepieces are available through our official website and the brand's authorized sales channels. Visit our where-to-buy page to find the verified retailers approved by CIGA Design.
Q2: What does the CIGA Design warranty cover?
Every CIGA Design watch comes with a 2-year warranty from the date of purchase, granted to the original owner and non-transferable. Should any defect in materials or workmanship appear, we will repair or replace your watch. Your timepiece is built for daily life and water use, so if it fails in water within the warranty period we will make it right — provided the crown was properly sealed. Water exposure with an unsealed crown voids the warranty.
Q3: How long is the warranty on a CIGA Design's watch?
Every watch is put through a strict series of tests after assembly to guarantee its precision and reliability. Thanks to this rigorous quality control, we offer a two-year international guarantee on all new CIGA Design watches bought from one of the brand's officially authorized shops.
Caring For Your Watch
Q1: How can I take care of my watch?
Keep it looking its best by wiping it now and then with a microfiber cloth. The case and bracelet (leather straps excepted) can also be cleaned occasionally with soapy water and a soft brush. After wearing it in the sea, rinse it in fresh water to clear away salt and sand. Before any cleaning, always make sure the winding crown is screwed firmly against the case to keep it waterproof.
Q2: Do I have to wind my watch?
Automatic winding: a daily-worn watch needs no manual winding. Wrist movement drives the Perpetual rotor, which feeds the movement with steady power. Set aside, it holds its charge for up to 40 hours depending on the model. To restart it, unscrew the crown to the winding position and turn it clockwise 30–40 times, then screw the crown back down against the case for waterproofness.
Manual winding: hand-wound watches usually need winding every day or every few days to stay running and accurate. Unscrew the crown to the winding position, turn it clockwise 30–40 times, and screw it firmly back down afterwards.
Q3: How do I set the time on a watch?
Unscrew the crown and pull it out to the second notch. The seconds hand stops, letting you set the time. Turn the crown counterclockwise to adjust it.
Q4: Do CIGA Design's watches have batteries?
Our mechanical watches run on a Perpetual rotor inside the case that swings gently as your wrist moves, transferring energy to the mainspring. Set aside, the watch keeps its charge for roughly two days depending on the model; simply wind it by hand to get it running normally again. The quartz version of the R Series Danish Rose is the exception — it uses a battery.
Q5: Are all watches waterproof?
CIGA Design watches are water resistant to 3ATM (30 meters), which covers everyday life — washing your hands or face, light splashes. They are not meant for laundry, car washing, bathing, saunas, swimming, or holding under a running tap. Brief contact while washing vegetables, clothes or your face is fine if you dry the watch promptly.
Mechanical watches should not sit in high-humidity places for long, as water molecules can seep through the movement over time. If water ever gets inside, pull out the crown, let it dry, and have it serviced as soon as possible.
Q6: My watch runs fast or slow, what should I do?
A watch's rate is affected by your personal lifestyle and everyday use. If you notice any issue, contact our official customer service center at our contact page and we will guide you through every technical aspect of your watch's functions.
Maintaining Your Watch
Q1: How often do I need to maintain a watch?
To keep the water resistance and the movement stable, you can take your watch to a local repair shop for testing. As a general rule we recommend servicing it roughly every 5 years, depending on the model and how it is used.
Q2: How much does maintaining a watch cost?
The price depends on the type of servicing needed and the condition of the watch. Before any maintenance, CIGA Design-certified watchmakers assess your timepiece and send you an estimate to approve before the work begins. For details, contact our contact page.
Q3: How long does a maintainance take?
A full overhaul takes at least 12–15 days depending on the watch's condition. Beforehand, a highly skilled CIGA Design-trained watchmaker runs a thorough diagnostic, carefully inspecting the case, bracelet and movement to determine exactly which procedures are required to meet CIGA Design's strict performance standards. For details, contact our contact page.
